Discover original, one-of-a-kind works by artist Karea Joy—abstract explorations, experimentations, and pieces shaped by feeling, story, and intention. Each work invites you to see something of your own in it, to connect with it beyond its appearance, and to let its meaning become personal. Art made not simply to be admired, but to be felt, experienced, and allowed to unfold over time.

Abstract painting on a blue field. A large, slightly textured red circle sits in the center. Inside the circle, toward the left, are two small forms: a vertical blue oblong and a small tan rounded square beside it.

This piece came out of a cross-country move during a heavy stretch of my life — the kind of season where you stop asking what you want to keep and start asking what you can still carry. I needed to get lighter. I needed space. I needed to put safety and well-being first, even when that meant leaving things, places, and versions of the story behind. Acrylic on canvas 8 × 8 in (20.3 × 20.3 cm) 2026

The After. Abstract painting on a blue field. A large blue circle sits in the center. Inside the circle are two small forms: a vertical tan oblong and a small red rounded square beside it.

The blue is the room that opened once the extra weight was set down. The two small forms are what stayed. Not the whole life. Just what I chose to bring with me.
